Membership Requirements

As a member, please do the following:

  • Complete all the fields in your profile and membership
  • Upload a picture of yourself
  • Write some offers and make requests
  • Record exchanges promptly
  • Visit site frequently to review weekly offers and requests
  • Follow the core values of time banking in all communications
  • Follow Rights, Responsibilities, Confidentiality, and Liabilities (see below)
  • Respond to communications in a timely manner
  • Monitor your account regularly

To earn one time credit for every hour of service provided

To spend time credits on services offered by other members

To save time credits in personal / group account for later use

To donate time credits to other members / groups

To have privacy and confidentiality maintained at all times

Keep your profile current and respond to all communications within 48 to 72 hours

Keep scheduled commitments and follow through

Provide quality service to the best of your ability

Absolutely do not buy, and sell or trade illegal goods and services

Be accepting of guidance and instructions

Know Community Skill Exchange member policies, agreements and core values



All members must protect the privacy and confidentiality of other members / groups. If there is a legitimate concern for another member (depression, physical health, living conditions…etc.), please provide these details to the police, health authorities or the TimeBank Coordinator. It is never acceptable to discuss one member with another member. A member can be dismissed from the program for violating this important rule.



Community Skill Exchange refers members who state that they are able to perform services competently. Community Skill Exchange cannot guarantee the performance of anyone who is referred, nor will the Community Skill Exchange leadership or members be held responsible for any injury or damage to property experienced involved with a transaction.
